Right above the travertines lies the ancient city of Hierapolis, founded in Greco-Roman antiquity as a spa and healing centre. Here you can explore the remarkably well-preserved ancient theatre, the vast necropolis, the colonnaded streets and the ruins of the Roman baths. Another highlight is the Cleopatra Pool (the Antique Pool), where you can swim in warm, carbonated thermal water among submerged ancient marble columns. Just a few kilometres away, the thermal area of Karahayıt awaits with its distinctive red-tinted springs and a wide choice of thermal hotels.

Getting to Pamukkale, from Izmir (ADB) or Denizli Çardak (DNZ)

Pamukkale does not have its own airport, so most international guests arrive through one of two gateways. Denizli Çardak Airport (DNZ) is the closest option: from there you can reach Pamukkale and Karahayıt in an average of about 1 hour (roughly 45 to 60 minutes). As Denizli Çardak mainly serves domestic routes, it is ideal for travellers connecting from Istanbul or Ankara.

Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB), with far more international connections, is the more common choice for visitors arriving from Europe. The distance to Pamukkale is around 235 to 245 km, and the drive takes an average of 3 to 3.5 hours in our VIP vehicles. This route also pairs beautifully with a stop at the ancient city of Ephesus or the town of Selçuk along the way. A typical flow looks like this: an early-morning visit to Hierapolis and the travertines, a midday rest and lunch break in the Karahayıt thermal area, and an optional afternoon stop at the Kaklık Cave. This is not a fixed rule but a suggestion that adapts entirely to your pace. While you explore each site, our driver waits at the vehicle or a nearby point, so you never need to search for another car between stops.
